iPoding: What’s that in your pocket?

I am continuing to enjoy my iPod, and for Christmas, I gave my daughters iPod minis. After telling them how to do the basics with it, including iTunes, I pointed them to the Internet, and showed them some of the better sites. Since I have shared a couple of them with visitors previously, I thought it was time the Family First site looked at another one. There is really a cool picture on this one today.

The site is called iPoding: What’s In Your Pocket? Like the previous sites we visited, this site is fan-organized and fan-run. There are some nice forums to visit/hang out in, with a wide range of expertise available. The products section has up-to-date product information, with good descriptions of the items, price and availablilty, all in a neat, short format (like Joe Friday says, ‘Just the facts’). This site seems to attact a world-wide audience, both in viewing and participation. Some of the most recent posts on the front page are from the United Kingom and France. There is a Tips/Trix section, featuring diagnostic mode and one for unsupported Macs. The picture section is pretty cool as well, and you never can tell who you’ll see. One of the most recent posts has a picture of Steve Jobs walking on Christmas day. Kinda neat.
There are all kinds of new products in the MP3 playback world. But the iPod remains at the top, due (I feel) to the ease of use and the quality of it’s construction. But fan oriented site such as todays also help keep it on top.
